YOu can’t get rid of a cold with medication. You can manage the symptoms, but there is no cure.

If it just became symptomatic, buy some Zicam. Read all warnings first and don’t use it if you are allergic to zinc.

If you have allergies or waited too long to use the Zicam, then some people get faster relief when they drink plenty of fluids and treat the symptoms. Robitussin has some good products over the counter. I tend to use their remedies. Just read the labels and they’ll tell you what formula to use for which symptoms.

Hope you feel better soon!

It’s true that there is no “cure”, and no medications can help a cold…. but you can take natural supplements to boost your immune system, and that will often help to lessen the duration of the cold. Of course, you can also help to purge it out with plenty of fluids… the old adage of orange juice and chicken soup actually are beneficial.

General antioxidants (vitamin C, for example) are good for the immune system, as well as Elderberry, Colostrum, Beta Glucans, and mushrooms (Reishi, Maitake, or Shiitake).
