colds
kentstarchild01 asked:

As you know, there are seemingly hundreds or thousands of different medicines on the market that are supposed to help us to get rid of our colds. A lot of people also use their own home remedies for getting rid of colds? According to your knowledge, and experience, what are the best methods to get rid of very bad colds? I think that a lot of people will be very interested in this question since it is now winter time in the U.S., and since people all over the world catch either mild or bad colds almost every year.

Drink plenty of fluids, rest and take Tylenol Cold and Dayquil/ Nyquil. That helps me. It helps to just stay home and take it easy for a day or two also.

The best way to treat it is to attack it in the beginning - that Airborne stuff works miracles for me - it won’t completely get rid of the cold (which is impossible), but it makes the symptoms much less severe

While there is no official cure for the common cold, there are remedies to speed up the recovery process. It sounds like an old wives’ tale, but chicken soup and orange juice really do help. They’ve got the right vitamins and nutrients to give your body the strength to fight the cold more efficiently. If you want to give your body another weapon, try a product called “Airborne” - you can buy it at your local pharmacy or even grocery store and it costs about 5 dollars.

take rest, drink fluids, eat sweet lemon, but note that colds will last for a week, no matter how hard you try to get well.

I`m afraid there is no way to get rid of a cold..all you can do is make it more bearable…by taking paracetamol or the like till it runs it course…

Well My mums a nurse and she says drink plenty of fluids,oj in particular. Get plenty of rest. Take some cold medicines like zicam or airborn. Stay calm and if it sats longer than a week and a half then you should go to your docter for a checkup.

Get well soon!

When I first notice that funny feeling in the back of my throat, I immediately start taking GOLDENSEAL. It is an herbal supplement that you can get in most pharmacies. Take 2 with each meal for at least 5 or 6 days. This does help to shorten the length and the severity of the cold. Of course if you start seeing yellow or green mucus you should go to your doctor as you probably have an infection. It is also important to drink plenty of fluids and get extra rest.
