fever
She has an eye infection and ear infection. She started taking Augmentin (basically Amoxicillin) on Monday night. She’s had two full days of antibiotics. She is still running a fever (around 101 or 102, breaks and comes back throughout the day.) She is one year old. Does this mean the antibiotic isn’t working? Or is it normal for a fever to linger for a few days after antibiotics are introduced?

By taking a fever reducer, aren’t we keeping our body from fighting off infection?

fever
Just gorgeous dahling asked:

I think I may have a fever because I feel like I’m having chills, but I’m at work, with no thermometer. Is there any other way to know if I’m running a fever?

Help pls asked:

Although I KNOW I am running a fever and am assured our digital thermometer is working properly, it consistently says my temperature is BELOW what it should be. My Fiancee says it is a “low grade” fever and to add two degrees. I am curious as to what you all think. I have already decided to get a new thermometer but want to know if any of you have been told the same thing. (add two degrees). Thanks.
I placed the thermometer under my tongue. Where it has always been placed.

Ms. Gump asked:

My son has been running a fever for a couple of days. It ranges from 101 - 103 F. I’ve been giving him over the counter meds but they really aren’t bringing it down. Suggestions?
He’s 16 years old.
