Well, plenty of rest and lots of fluids.

Gingerale works the best.

Get well soon!

Other than paracetamol, aspirin, or ibuprofen I would suggest you take a luke warm bath, or put a cold flannel on your forehead. Drink plenty of water.

You do not want to get rid of the fever as that is your body’s natural way of fighting off what is going on in your body. If the fever is going on for several days with no other symptoms you can see the doc if you are concerned. Also it depends on what you mean by fever as not everyone has a normal temp of 98.6. For some people 99.2 is their normal temp.

Don’t get rid of the fever! It’s the body’s way of heating itself to such a temperature in order to kill bacteria and defeat illness.

Aspirin or Tylenol – FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! A cold shower or bath may help. ABOVE ALL – fevers are indications of something wrong – if it does not come down SOON, you need to contact a doctor and get checked out – you probably have an infection of some kind that needs more immediate attention in the form of antibiotics, etc. DON’T TAKE CHANCES! – Your body is telling you that something is “out of whack” – something is wrong – don’t ignore that for too long. Especially if it’s a high fever – those can be VERY dangerous if left untreated for too long! I hope this helps and that you’ll be feeling better soon! (Pharmacist, here)

The World Health Organisation guesstimate one hundred million cases yearly, this includes 100-200 cases reported to the Centres for Illness Control and Prevention, usually in folk that have traveled abroad. People who believe they have dengue should use drugs ( analgesics ) with acetaminophen and avoid those containing aspirin.
