Just Me asked:

How do you break a fever in cats?
My kitten has toxic poisoning from ear mite meds – the vet last night gave her iv fluids and sent her home said she just has to wait it out (after flushing her ears and such) .. but her fever is still kicking .. Any ideas?

you can wipe down the paw pads and the ear tips, but there really isn’t anything you can give a cat to break a fever. just keep her comfortable, and make sure she’s eating and has access to cool water at all times.

I just picked my boy, Willie up from the vet. He had a fever that was hard to break and spent yesterday and last night in hospital. The vet had to try a couple of different meds to get the temp down. I would bring your kitty back in to the vet or at least call.

DO NOT GIVE ASPRIN… it will kill the cat.

You can try using ice packs …

Remeber…Fever is the body’s method of killing off any unwanted virus/ etc in the body.

Yes take back to the vet.
