I’m feeling really sick and I can’t tell if I have a fever or not. Any suggestions on how I can tell?

My son has never been the type to really get sick, we have been pretty lucky until recently. We have just moved from california to new mexico 3 months ago and immediatly after moving here like every other week he gets a 102 fever for like 2 days. He doesnt have a doctor yet since we just moved here but what could it be> He doesnt get any other symptoms just really hott.

I’ve never had a dog with any of the symptoms like a runny nose or chills or lethargy or vomiting (unless they ate something bad). Can they get those types of sicknesses like we humans get?
